Lawrence Weiner’s Voice

If you’ve ever had the opportunity to hear him speak, you’ll know what I mean.

I count myself lucky, having had that pleasure on several occasions over the years. The latest of which was this past weekend, at the launch of his show Dicht Bij, at BAK, Utrecht, with the Stedelijk Museum’s brand new director, Ann Goldstein.

If you missed it, make sure to check the Former West website, for the video reportage, or even better, see the show.

Untitled (Five-Way Conversation Piece)

What do you get when you put Vito Acconci’s, Joseph Beuys’, Dan Graham’s, Richard Serra’s, and Lawrence Weiner’s words together, to create a conversation about public art?

A perfect piece, by Lawrence Weiner, for a sad situation. As of May 2nd Galerie Micheline Szwajcer will be no more.
